- Map and Direction to Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT):
Traveling to IIT is easy. Take a look at our map and directions to get oriented.
The Dan Ryan Expressway (I-94) demarcates the western boundary of IIT and is only two blocks west of the State-33rd intersection.
Coming from the north or the south on I-94, you can take the 31st or 35th Street exit. There are two landmarks visible from the freeway:
a red-brown building on the east side, which houses administrative offices of IIT, and the White Sox Stadium on the west side.
About 10 blocks to the east of State Street is Lake Shore Drive , which has an exit for 31st Street . Lake Shore Drive is the recommended
route for reaching downtown Chicago to the north of IIT.
